These terms and conditions apply to makeup services provided by Rachael Blackwell to you. Upon booking a makeup application with Rachael Blackwell, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.


To secure your wedding date a $100 booking fee is to be paid. Upon receipt of payment of this deposit, your booking is confirmed. This is a non-refundable fee and is in place to cover last minute cancellations and change of mind etc.

Rachael Blackwell requires a minimum of 5 makeup applications for travel to location. Please note that if the number drops below 5 persons, 5 makeup applications must still be paid for in the final invoice.

If you require more than 7 makeup applications, I will work with a second MUA. This will incur a second travel fee to cover the cost of the second makeup artist travel to the location.

Makeup application is usually 1 hour, I always allow 30 minutes arrival time before your wedding to set up/park etc.


The remainder of the invoice for weddings is sent out 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding with all information confirmed. This is to be paid prior to the wedding and a screenshot/receipt of the payment is required by email.

All my bank details will be provided in the invoice.

Please note that If any changes are to be made to the booking, cancellations, change of mind, etc a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice is required to adjust for any time changes due to other bookings to avoid a 50-100% loss of payable invoice amount [50%: Within 8 weeks | 100%: Within 4 weeks

This also includes any changes due to Covid 19.

In the unlikely event that I am unable to fulfil your booking, I will notify you in the first instance and provide you with a replacement makeup artist, one whom I recommend highly. If I cannot find a suitable replacement makeup artist, I will offer you a full refund.


Your makeup trial can be booked online via my website by clicking book now, select wedding trial then choose your date and time. Wedding trials can be booked on any day of the week. A makeup trial is $160 and are conducted in my studio. If you are not happy with your makeup trial or feel I am not the perfect makeup artist for your wedding day, I am happy to cancel the booking for you. This will incur no extra charge apart from the initial deposit.

Makeup Prep: Please arrive with a clean face. If you decide on having facials or treatments, please allow adequate time prior to your wedding/trial. 2 weeks is usually a sufficient time. With regards to waxing/threading, it’s ideal to allow at least a few days buffer between waxing/threading and the wedding day in case your skin is irritated from waxing/threading treatments. Keep in mind if you are having a spray tan prior to the wedding day, I would recommend getting one so you get an accurate representation of how you will look on the day. Spray tan can also dry the skin, so specific products may be needed to achieve the best result for your wedding date. Spray tans are best completed 2 days prior to your trial/wedding day.


Inner city Brisbane travel is $60

Any further and Travel fees are calculated to cover the cost of fuel and time traveling to the location. If Rachael has to travel more than 3 Hours one way, accommodation is required. This must be private accommodation for safety/personal reasons - there must not be anyone else staying in the same accommodation as Rachael. Any questions on this, please let Rachael know prior to booking.

The client is responsible in the event that any hotel and street parking fees are incurred as a result of the location of the booking. If possible, please have a space reserved for Rachael Blackwell at any hotels or venues.

CHANGES/CANCELLATION No reduction in the number of makeup applications is allowed after initial quote is accepted. Any additional numbers, changes in location or timing on the day will be accommodated where possible. In the event that you need to postpone your wedding, your deposit will be transferred to your new date. However, if you choose a date I am not available your deposit will be forfeited.

If you choose to reschedule or postpone your appointment more than 12 months after your initial booking, you may be subject to a price increase.​


Rachael Blackwell requires information on whether the client has allergies. In no event shall Rachael Blackwell have any liability for incidental, or consequential damages however characterised, for example eczema, sensitive skin and eyes.


Rachael Blackwell reserves the right to take photographic or film records of any of our make-up applications, and may use any such photographs for promotional and/or commercial purposes with your consent.

Booking a Hair and makeup application can be made up to 12 hours before if places are still available. All makeup appointments require a non-refundable $50 deposit. <My booking system allows the full price to be made if this is preferred.

Booking is fully secured upon email confirmation of payment of a deposit. Please remember to check your spam mail, and please let me know if you do not receive a confirmation email.


Please arrive with a makeup free, clean face prior to your booking. Arriving with makeup on will only cut into your appointment time and can sometimes lead to appointments running over.

Please also arrive with clean, dry, hair ready for styling. Wet hair will only cut time from your appointment spent drying. Please know that arriving with unwashed, greasy hair will only result in styling being more difficult and not having the desired effect that you require.

If you are requiring extensions to be fitted, clips, sitting pretty halo’s etc, please let me know in advance. You can select an option online when booking hair and makeup; this adds an extra 30 minutes to your appointment allowing me to install them and have enough time for styling. This service is $30.

If you have very long thick hair, please select the $10 add on to allow me extra time for styling. This adds on 15 minutes to your appointment


All deposits are paid securely online through my online booking system. The remainder of your booking is to be paid on the day. You are welcome to pay on card at the end of your appointment. In the event that I must refund any payments, a booking fee will be charged.


If for any reason you need to cancel your makeup application, please notify me as soon as you can. Legally as stated, your deposit is non-refundable or transferable, however depending on your individual situation under my discretion, I may offer to reschedule your booking. If your situation is one of these deemed unique by myself, your booking will only be able to be transferred a maximum of one occasion. If you cancel your appointment less then 24 hours prior to your booking, the remainder of the booking will be charged to your card.


Please note I cannot reschedule or offer refunds on cancellations due to Covid 19. Due to the rise in cases, the deposit is in place to cover loss of earnings due to regular cancellations.

If you arrive over 20 minutes late for your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled, and the full amount will be charged to your card to cover loss of income. I cannot complete your makeup after arriving 20 minutes late due to usually being booked back to back.


All appointments are conducted from my studio in Everton Park, If you have booked a group booking on location there will be a travel fee.


Please note Travel is for 5 plus makeup bookings only. Once quoted, if the numbers drop below 5 persons, either the clients must travel to my home studio or the cost of 5 applications must be paid/covered.


There is a surcharge for Sundays and public holidays. This is included in the quote and also included when bookings are made through my online booking system. There is a separate option for Sundays/Public holidays.
